General information

CHARACTERISTICS

Access to the park is located in the upper part of the Vista Alegre neighborhood. At the meeting point you can read the name of the park and there are panels with information.

During the tour there is no guidance system for visually impaired people.

The park has a circular route that starts and ends at the main entrance. Almost the entire road is on the slope (in some areas the slope is very pronounced). The route has an approximate length of 900 m, is well marked and has a non-slip floor. The park features an outdoor gym, a zip code area and a playground.

At several points of the tour there are seats or benches, some with armrests and others not. We will find different informative panels and totems with information about the tree species found in the area.

There are no public toilets in the area.

HOW TO REACH

On foot or by bike.

To access on foot or by bike from the center of Zarautz to the park of Vista Alegre you can use the two accessible elevators of Aldapeta that link San Ignacio Street with the district of Vista Alegre. However, in the neighborhood there are strong slopes. Therefore, the pedestrian path to the entrance to the park is not accessible to the wheelchairs, as in addition to the slope, which is higher than 6%, the sidewalks are narrow (in most cases of one meter). Therefore, it is recommended to use the urban bus to access the park entrance.

To access the entrance of the Parque de Vista Alegre by foot or by bike, there is another alternative road from the roundabout that connects the streets San Ignacio and Barandiaran. It's wider, it's got red asphalt and handrails in ramps. However, this option has a narrow sidewalk at the end of the journey (in front of the Xiba society).

Public transport

Urban buses have a stop at the entrance to the park of Vista Alegre, Allemendi 2 stop. All Zarautz bus lines pass through it. This station is well marked. At 3 meters from the station there is a zebra crossing that gives access to the park. This small section is narrow and sloping.
